Cultura Chocolate is a Mexican-American woman owned, bean-to-bar chocolate making company in Denver, CO that was created to honor the heritage of cacao and chocolate. We are dedicated to maintaining a transparent, sustainable, and ethical supply chain that highlights the cultures and communities of where cacao originates. We also believe in the importance and power of our local community and strive to create an inviting, accessible and culturally relevant space through intentional colloborations and partnership with other community organizations in Westwood. We believe we are stronger together and that through collective work we can empower ourselves and our community.
In February of 2020 we opened our new Factoria + Cafe in the heart of the Westwood neighborhood at the RISE Westwood Campus. After shifting directions this past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are now getting ready to expand our little factoria inorder to create a more intentional, inclusive and culturally relevant chocolate experience. We are looking for motivated and hardworking people to join our small but mighty team. Preference is given to people who live in the Westwood neighborhood, those who are billingual in Spanish and English, and those with previous retail or food establishment experience.

Part-time or Full-time Chocolatier/Pastry Chef: The person in the role will assist with the production and execution of the confections and pastries made for our cafe. This person will help to identify ways to develop and improve operating procedures and help manage a small team of production assistants. Previous pastry and/or food production experience is required. This is a very hands on position that requires long hours on your feet and the ability to do long repetitive tasks and lift at least 50 pounds. This is a good opportunity if you are interested in learning more about the chocolate making process, are good at working independently, are organized and have great attention to detail.
Part-time or Full-time Cafe Production Assistant/Baker: The person in the role will assist with the daily production of the cafe items such as baked goods, desserts, pastries and confections. Under the oversight of our Head Chocolate Maker this person will also learn about the chocolate making production process, from sorting, roasting and winnowing the cacao beans, to tempering, molding and packaging the chocolate bars. Previous pastry and/or food production experience is strongly preferred. This is a very hands on position that requires long hours on your feet and the ability to do long repetitive tasks and lift at least 50 pounds. This is a good opportunity if you are interested in learning about the chocolate making process, are good at working independently, are organized and have great attention to detail.
Part-time or Full-time Cafe/Retail Assistant: The person in the role will be the face of Cultura Chocolate at our new Factoria + Cafe. They will engage with customers, provide high quality customer service while selling Cultura products and assist with the production of our cafe beverages. They will not simply be a sales clerk - they are responsible for the entire customer experience. Maintaining a friendly and approachable attitude, answering questions about the products, making recommendations, and ensuring that each person who enters the cafe leaves both happy and more knowledgeable. Key to this role is being able to express the value, quality, and authenticity of Cultura Chocolate to the diverse audience that we serve. At times, you will also assist with some aspects of the chocolate or cafe production process. Previous cafe/barista experience preferred but not required. This is a good opportunity if you are bilingual in both Spanish and English, want to learn more about chocolate and our chocolate making process, enjoy interacting with customers, can work independently, and lift up to 50 pounds.

- Hours: Approximately 20-25 hours a week to start with at least one weekend day required. There is some flexibility to the schedule but it must fit within our cafe and production schedules. This can be combined with other roles to become full-time.
- Pay: Starting pay varies depending on experience ($18-$22/hour)
- Requirements: Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
