Cultura is a Mexican-American, woman-owned, bean-to-bar chocolate making factoria, cafe, and community molino located at the RISE Westwood Campus in the heart of the Westwood neighborhood in Denver, CO. We are dedicated to preserving and honoring our ancestral traditions and believe in the importance of maintaining transparent, sustainable, and ethical supply chains that highlights the cultures and communities of where cacao & maiz originates. At Cultura, we strive to create a warm,intentional, accessible, culturally relevant space through our colloborations and partnerships with other community organizations in Westwood. We firmly believe we are stronger together and that through our collective work we empower ourselves and our wider community.
We opened our Factoria + Cafe in February of 2020 during the height of the pandemic. We are now excited and ready to expand upon our little factoria to continue creating an intentional, inclusive and culturally relevant chocolate & maiz experience for our community. We are looking for motivated and hardworking people to join our small but mighty team. Preference will be given to people who live in the Westwood neighborhood, have strong community and cultural connections, are bilingual in Spanish and English and have previous retail or food establishment experience.

Part-time or Full-time Chocolatier/Pastry Chef: The person in this role will assist with the production and execution of the chocolate, confections, pastries and desserts made for our cafe. This person will help to identify ways to develop and improve operating procedures and help manage a small team of production assistants. Previous pastry and/or food production experience is required. The ideal candidate should be able to handle long hours on their feet while doing long repetitive tasks, and they must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. They should be well organized, show great attention to detail and be able to work independently. This position is a great opportunity to learn more about the chocolate making process!
Part-time or Full-time Cafe Production Assistant/Baker: The person in this role will assist with the daily production of the cafe such as baked goods, desserts, anda small brunch/small plates menu. This person will also assist with our sister project, Teocintli, where we operate a community molino and make nixtamal masa, tortillas and other maiz based products. Under the oversight of our Head Chocolate Maker this person will also learn about the chocolate making production process and assist with packaging and other tasks as needed. Previous pastry and/or food production experience is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate should be able to handle long hours on their feet while doing long repetitive tasks, and they must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. They should be well organized, show great attention to detail and be able to work independently. This position is a great opportunity to learn more about the chocolate making process!
Part-time or Full-time Cafe/Retail Assistant: The person in this role will serve as the face of Cultura Chocolate at our Factoria + Cafe. They will sell Cultura products and assist with the production of our cafe beverages while engaging with our patrons and providing them with high-quality customer service. The person in this position will not simply be a sales clerk - they are responsible for our customers’ positive consumer experience. The ideal candidate must maintain a friendly and approachable attitude, especially during high-stress situations and busy hours. They should be able to answer questions about our products, make recommendations, and ensure that each person who enters our cafeé leaves happy and more knowledgeable. This person will also assist with some of the chocolate or cafeé production process. Previous cafe/barista experience is strongly preferred, but not necessarily required. The key to this role is being able to express the value, quality, and authenticity of Cultura Chocolate to the diverse audience that we serve. This position is a great opportunity to learn more about the chocolate making process!

They will represent the Cultura brand and provide high-quality customer service while selling Cultura products and providing samples. The person in this position will not simply be a sales clerk - they are responsible for our customers’ positive consumer experience. The ideal candidate must maintain a friendly and approachable attitude, especially during high-stress situations and busy hours. They should be able to answer questions about our products and make recommendations. They should also be well organized, show great attention to detail, be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be able to work independently. Additionally, this person will help us spread the word about upcoming events. The key to this role is being able to express the value, quality, and authenticity of Cultura Chocolate to the diverse audience that comes to the many events we attend. - Hours: Approximately 20-25 hours a week to start with at least one weekend day required. There is some flexibility to the schedule but it must fit within our cafe and production schedules. This may be combined with other roles to become full-time.
- Pay: Starting pay varies depending on experience ($20-$24/hour)
- Requirements: Bilingual in Spanish and English required.

- Pay: Minimum Wage plus commision on sales ($18-$22+/hour)
- Requirements: Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. Must have your own vehicle to transport event supplies and products.
